Water as Our Healer
Returning from a weekend in the San Juan Islands, I felt called to share a ritual inspired by my time there.
I spent the long weekend connecting to nature, integrating my recent healing sessions/experiences and practicing a state of being. As we each embark on our own healing and spiritual journeys it is important to devote time to simply be. Integration is very challenging to embody during ever day life - So let this be an invitation to devote time to yourself, held and supported by nature!
The Ritual:
Visit a near by body of water (river, creek, lake, ocean - all options are perfect)
Be with the water for some time, touch it, meditate with it, listen
Once you feel connected, fill a glass jar with some of the water
Allow stones, seaweed and other elements that catch your eye into the jar
Sit with your jar and call forward what you would like to release at this time (an emotion, experience or person)
Close the jar bring it home, that night start a candle lit bath
Add sea salt or other essential oils you feel called to
When your bath is almost full, turn off the water, take a deep breath and as you exhale begin to pour the collected water and elements into the tub as you envision the release
Get in the tub and feel the water wash away everything. Sit with this water and connect back to the space where you collected it. Feel the transmutation of your release as you’ve made space for new energy
As you settle in, feel what emotions, experiences or people you’d like to call in
